General Warranty Terms
HSM warrants that any new products sold will be free from defects in material and workmanship when used under specified and normal operating conditions. All technical data and measurements provided are approximate values based upon single shift (equivalent to 8 hours) operations.
Products are subject to different limits and specifications due to operation length, paper size, grain, weight, misuse/abuse, and power configurations. We recommend reviewing all product capabilities in each specification flier before operation.
Standard Warranty Coverage Requirements
To maintain valid warranty coverage:
- The Manufacturer's Operating Instructions must be read and followed prior to operation
- Cross-cut shredders require lubrication every fifteen to thirty minutes of operation
- All corrective work must be performed by an HSM technician or authorized service company
- HSM branded oil is recommended for optimal performance
- Products must be operated within their specified capabilities
- Modifications and repairs must be performed only by authorized technicians

Warranty Exclusions and Limitations
Coverage does not include:
- Accidents, misuse, or abuse
- Water damage or fire damage
- Freight or transportation damage
- Processing of incompatible materials
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications
- Damage from improper maintenance
- Interventions by unauthorized third parties
Additional Coverage Information
Parts and Components
- Warranty parts within original warranty period: Equal to original machine warranty
- Parts sold outside warranty period: One (1) year warranty
- Accessories (bags, oil, box inserts, shred carts): 90-day warranty
- Refurbished products: Standard new warranty equal to original unit warranty
International Coverage Outside continental United States, warranty is limited exclusively to:
- Free delivery of spare parts
- Defective parts must be returned
